Rent-A-Coder found him!
September 17th, 2008Rent-A-Coder is a web-based auction marketplace designed to connect employers in need of computer programming with a worldwide network of programmers. Far from being one sided, Rent-A-Coder also facilitates the connection of businesses with graphic artists, freelance writers, and language translators. Ian Ippolito is the founder of Rent-A-Coder.com and the CEO at Exhedra Solutions, Inc.
Rent-A-Coder is considered a sort of eBay of the programming world, where tens of thousands of programmers bid on projects posted by thousands of businesses and employers. This results in a worldwide network where businesses in Chicago, Illinois are hiring programmers in Pakistan and Ukraine. This is the hypercompetitive, technologically-advanced, future of the industry. Mr. Ippolito claims the idea found him after turning down multiple coding projects. This idea later germinated into a website in the form of Rent-A-Coder.com and grew quite quickly.
The businesses pay the lowest possible amount for a project. The programmers naturally benefit from having a centralized location where they can search for work, and get an opportunity to try every single project.
